Cabin (384 sq. ft.) in Owls Head, ME
0 miles from St. George
A beautifully crafted shore front cabin with views on three sides of local islands, the Mussel Ridge Channel and the open waters of west Penobscot Bay. Screened from other cottages, the cabin is a perfect romantic getaway for a couple or cozy seaside base for a small family. Spectacular sunrises and the glow of sunsets on the islands are complemented by starry nights and moonbeams dancing on the water. The waterfront provides abundant opportunities for beach combing, swimming, and boating. Two local undeveloped islands are within rowing and paddling distance. Enjoy the windjammers, sailboats, lobster boats and power cruisers traversing the bay on their way up and down the coast. Adjacent to the cabin is a grassy area with picnic table and lawn chairs suitable for cookouts, relaxing, and enjoying unencumbered views of the bay. Because the cabin is right on the shore, it relies on bottled water and a self contained Sun-Mar electric composting toilet . The owner supplies pure spring water for drinking, and cooking, and town water washing. This latter can also be used for solar heated bag showers in the shed immediately next to the cabin. Guests also have access to hot showers in the owners' nearby cottage.

Our adorable classic Maine cottage sleeps three. A new adjacent bungalow accommodates an additional two people for an extra charge of $350.00 a week (a great place for the kids to sleep and hang out!). The cottage has an updated kitchen and bathroom. There is a wooden table (that can fold out) in the living room for indoor eating. We have a fully outfitted heated bathroom (shower, no tub) with new fixtures. Upstairs, there is a loft-style full bedroom with a spectacular view of the ocean. There is a small single bedroom downstairs. The living room has comfy furniture and a lovely gas fireplace for those rare chilly summer mornings. There is WiFi but no TV. Linens and towels are provided. Beds are made up for you before your arrival. The screened-in porch, which overlooks the Gulf of Maine, features a family-sized table for dining out on summer evenings. Attached is a small deck with a charcoal grill for you to enjoy. Two kayaks (one double and one single) are also available. During the day, luxuriate on the warm rocks a few steps away or take the short path down to Pleasant Beach for swimming, snorkeling, crab-hunting, fishing, and sun-worshipping. The cottage boasts a stunning view of the bay. Sip your morning coffee on the porch and watch as lobstermen ply their trade while children climb the rocks along this secluded coastline. No crowds here! Nearby seafood shacks and restaurants in the area are well known, or if you're nice to the local lobsterman, you might have fresh lobster brought directly to your front door. Located 12 minutes from Rockland, 10 minutes from Owls Head, 35 minutes from Camden Hills State Park, and near many other Midcoast attractions. We also welcome a well-behaved dog for a small fee, but this is a cat-free, no-smoking property. I am happy to answer any questions about our wonderful Maine cottage. ----- There is also a fun newly constructed sleeping bungalow behind the cottage that has 3 beds and a little front porch. It is a great place for the kids to hang out, to use as an artist studio, or to simply have some quiet time! There is no bathroom, but there is a mini-fridge and coffee maker and it is only ten steps away from the main house. It is available for rent for an extra $350.00 weekly.

Cabin (895 sq. ft.) in Tenants Harbor, ME
0 miles from St. George
Named for the child who spent her childhood in this sweet house nestled in the woods of Tenants Harbor. Now, her captivating paintings grace the walls of a house built next to a mountain of granite left over from Wild Cat Quarry and just a whisper away from the shores of Tenants Harbor. Annie`s House is a quiet, semi-rustic retreat surrounded by tall spruces and a well maintained lawn and gardens. Built for a family of sailors, the house is constructed with the sturdiness of a ship and a delightful airiness that all vacation rentals in Maine should have. Located on Haskell Point Road, a quiet road winding its way along the shore, the house has a right-of-way to the shore just 300 yards from the front door. Here you can launch kayaks or simply sit and watch boats pass in front of you — beyond them see High Island, Southern Island and Northern Island. A repeat renter says her favorite thing to do is walk down to the rocks in the morning with a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise over Tenants Harbor. It would be easy to walk into Tenants Harbor for breakfast, coffee or to pick up the paper in the morning. Or pick up some lobsters or fresh fish. Port Clyde is just a 5-mile drive away and Rockland is a hop, skip and a jump — about 15 minutes up the road. Rinse off from your salt water adventures under the outdoor shower! The main part of the house houses the kitchen, dining area and the living room. The living room has a couch, shelves filled with books, a propane-fired woodstove and a television that receives basic reception. There is also a radio and Internet is provided for guest use. Off the living room find the dining area which looks out to the yard and limited views of the water. Find an outdoor table with seating for 4 and a charcoal BBQ (guests must supply their own briquettes). The kitchen is just off the dining room and is centered around an island. There is a full-sized gas stove for cooking, as well as a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and toaster. The house is supplied with cooking equipment as well. The full bath is off the living room, walk in tiled shower.  Upstairs — accessed by a hybrid staircase/ship`s ladder with hand railings — find two bedrooms. The first has one twin bed and the second has a double bed. The other bedroom is above the multi-purpose room off the kitchen. This room is the perfect place to take off your shoes after a sandy day at the beach. The bedroom above is very private with beautiful built-ins and 180-degree views of the woods and the yard. This is also a double bed. Annie`s House is about a little solitude, peacefulness and tall pines creaking in the salty air — all the while, knowing civilization is just a walk down the road. It`s as perfect for 2 people as it is for 4.  A dog MAY BE CONSIDERED with pet fee and acceptance of pet policy. We will need to know size, breed and age of the dog. Owner APPROVAL IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO BOOKING.

The living room and den area is outfitted with comfortable and stylish furnishings, a flat-screen television, cable, a DVD player, stereo and high speed Wifi for internet access. There is even a whole-house back-up generator, so no need to worry about power loss. Large windows overlook the deck and the expansive lawn and waterfront. Novels, local guide books and maps are also included. South Thomaston is located just five miles from downtown Rockland, 15 miles from Camden/Rockport and five miles from the St. George Peninsula and the villages of Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde. Hayden Point is less than 10 minutes from Primo, one of the best restaurants in New England. There is also a boat launch open for public use about one half mile from the Hayden Point House, and a beautiful state park with a beach about five minutes away. We have a professional caretaker on call during your stay should any problem arise. Dogs are allowed with owner permission and additional pet fee.

Consider yourself lucky if you get the opportunity to stay at Clark Point – it truly takes your breath away. Even those of us who live here year round are mesmerized by absolute natural perfection this property provides. Imagine spending summer in Maine at Clark Point, a beautiful section of the Clark Island area of the St. George Peninsula, the vacation rental house sits on 3 private acres on 602 feet of bold oceanfront. The shorefront reaches around three sides of the house, providing water views from virtually every window. Your view is of Wheeler's Bay and the open ocean beyond – you will see boats of every kind moving between the islands dotting the horizon, watch lobster boats haul traps, sit on the deck and watch bald eagles fish and seals sunning themselves on warm rocks when the tide recedes. The Clark Island neighborhood also provides a place to launch a kayak or small boat (please inquire about details of use). This is a private space, a haven in fact, and although there is so much to do in this part of Maine, it will be hard to pull yourself away from your captivating front row seat on the Maine Coast. The waterfront is varied – rocky in some places and direct access to the ocean in others. A cedar lined path as well as a natural path takes you to the shore. The owners love the “morning coffee rock” - a beautiful place to start your day overlooking the ocean. The house has an open concept and is designed to make the most of the glorious views that surround the property. An atrium style living room and dining room truly brings the outdoors in – often, it is hard to tell if there is any land between where you sit and where the ocean begins. A comfortable living room leads out the wrap around deck – find Adirondack chairs, a picnic table and a grill for time spent outside. The dining room can seat 6+ and offers extraordinary views as well. A large loft (with solid knee wall and its own amazing views) overlooks the living room and dining room. This is a place to unwind and get comfortable at the end of the day – two large chairs and ottomans and floor pillows are centered around a large flatscreen television. The house has cable television and whole-house wireless Internet. The kitchen is open and centered around a large island. Well-equipped, there are high end appliances including a Jenn-Air gas stove with a grill. An induction cooktop, as well as lots of counter space, make meal preparations easy. Just below the kitchen in a small sun room with a bistro set – this is a fantastic place for breakfast in the morning. A laundry room is off the kitchen in the hallway with a full sized washer and dryer. There are two large bedrooms in a private wing of the house and each of the bedrooms has is own access to the deck. The first bedroom has vaulted ceilings, water views, a queen bed and use of the shared full bathroom (tub/shower) in the hallway. The master suite is lovely and spacious with a king bed. The en suite bathroom has an oversized shower, a double vanity and a Jacuzzi with some of the best water views in the house! The master has vaulted ceilings, a sitting area, private access to the deck and a large flat screen television. Chimerique is a property where words often fall short when trying to explain and describe. The level of craftsmanship and design is awe-inspiring and rivaled only by the stunning location, overlooking outter Tenants Harbor, Southern Island and the islands of Eel Grass Cove. Situated almost directly on the water’s edge. Chimerique is private and peaceful, protected by stately pine trees embellished by thoughtful, natural landscaping. Minutes to Tenants Harbor Village and a 5 minute drive to Port Clyde Village make this an idea location for those who wish to explore the area. Harts Neck is a dead-end road so many like to bike, walk and jog on this winding, tree lined street. Although the house is newly constructed, the classic and high level of detail make you feel as if you have walked into a well-preserved summer home loved by generations. The configuration of the house makes it impossible to forget you are sitting right on the water – large windows, French doors and a two-thirds house-long deck with a cable railing system all work to maintain the endless views. The master bedroom is on the first floor and occupies the left wing of the house – French doors open onto an upper level deck shared by the master bed room and kitchen, offering fantastic views of the water. The master offers a queen bed, lovely furnishings and a private bathroom with double sinks, a jetted soaking tub and a large, custom walk-in, tiled shower with a rain head. This bathroom has heated towel racks and a bidet. A small hallway, with direct access to the deck separates the master from the kitchen. The kitchen is a lovely melding of old and new – think traditional design blended with high end appliances. The kitchen has a deep sink, stylestone granite countertops, a large peninsula for food prep or entertaining during meal prep, a gas stove top, wall oven, dish washer and warming drawer. The kitchen overlooks a small, informal dining area with seating for four – this is a cozy section of the kitchen, perfect for breakfast. Off the kitchen is the laundry room with full capacity washer and dryer and the most amazing antique soap stone utility sink. The great room houses the formal dining room and the more formal family room. The family room is sunken with plenty of seating situated around a large fireplace and a large flat screen television. This room also opens onto the largest part of the deck, furnished with lots of outdoor seating. The downstairs sections of the second wing of the house has a half bath, two bedrooms and a full bath. The first bedroom has a Queen bed and overlooks the waterside of the property. The second bedroom has two twin beds and is located on the inside section of the property with peek-a-boo views of the water from one window. All bedrooms on the first floor have room darkening shades. The shared bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Upstairs is what we call the Bunk Room. It is a wonderful, well planned space. A cathedral ceiling space with a closet/partition with two double beds on the back of the house and two twins situated under the eves on the common area side of the room. House in Port Clyde, ME
0 miles from St. George
Welcome to Harbor House, a family-designed and built timber-framed, 18th century reproduction, gambrel roof home on mid-coast Maine’s St. George peninsula. Harbor House is delightfully sited on two-and-a-half acres of ocean front property with private dock facing a secluded harbor, several islands, and the open waters of the Atlantic. It is located on a private road away from the bustle of summer traffic, yet only two miles from the Port Clyde working waterfront and Monhegan ferry, and three miles from the restaurants, library, bakery, public tennis courts, and yachting fleet of Tenants Harbor. Drift Inn Beach, a public beach great for swimming, and Marshall Point Lighthouse are also close at hand. Let’s start out on Harbor House’s broad south-facing deck with its glorious ocean views, perfect for lingering over your morning cup of coffee, watching windjammers coast along on the southwesterly breeze, taking an afternoon nap on the hammock, grilling today’s catch for dinner on the gas grill, or star gazing after dark, with the Milky Way so close you feel you can almost touch it. On the deck you are literally surrounded by nature’s bounty, sharing the bracing sea air with the ospreys busily tending to their young on Grandfather’s Island, great blue herons wading in the harbor at low tide, and kingfishers perched on the dock waiting for you to snap a photo. Out on the dock linger over the views of the surf breaking on rocky ledges, intriguing tide pools, and the scent of beach roses and raspberries. Don’t be at all surprised to come face-to-face with an inquisitive seal or to hear the soaring cry of loons at the mouth of the harbor. Moving into Harbor House, you pass through a cheery sun room with tile flooring, ready to receive the treasures you picked up from your seaside stroll or your sandy shoes and beach toys. Through the glass doors now you are in the living room with its pleasant mix of contemporary and antique furniture, and fireplace (firewood included) if the nights get chilly. Your eye is drawn to the exposed post and beam framing of hand-finished red and white oak cut from trees in Amherst, Massachusetts. The construction technique used is mortise and tenon joinery with oak pegs locking the frame in place. Notice, too, decorative details such as chamfering of the primary beams with lambs tongue stops and extensive raised panels used as wainscoting, all harkening back to New England’s architectural past. To your left is a complete modern kitchen with two refrigerators and stocked with all the utensils you’ll need to prepare simple or lavish meals, and dining area that can comfortably accommodate ten. On the main level you will also find the cozy library, with a collection of books about Maine and the sea, thrillers and classics, and a second working fireplace as well as cable TV. For those needing to stay in touch with the outside world, please note that Internet wifi has recently been installed at Harbor House, so by all means bring your laptops! Overflow guests can sleep in the library on a comfortable queen inflatable bed provided for that purpose. You will also find a half bath on this level, and an outside shower open to the sky that is great to start your day with a shower as the sun filters through the leaves of nearby birches, or to wash off sand and salt at day’s end.

You'll be one of the lucky ones; directions to your vacation house in Maine will read ... 'drive just 5 miles off the main road and then, follow the private road under a canopy of towering pine trees; you'll know you have arrived when the road ends at the ocean.’ Arden House has been the respite for a family who loves the outdoors, salt water and privacy. With almost 3 acres of land, 381 feet of pristine water-frontage complete with a sandy beach and water-worn rocks perfect for exploring, it is hard to imagine a more ideal place in Midcoast Maine. There are views from virtually every room in the house – each bedroom (one on the first floor and two on the second) has direct access via sliding doors to decks that overlook the water. The house is open concept with vaulted ceilings, a stunning granite fireplace and floor to ceiling windows. Only 10 minutes from the conveniences of Thomaston and Rockland, this family compound is immersed in nature with mature forest on 3 sides and water on the other. It’s the perfect place to take a boat ride down the river (you'll pass working lobster boats and sailboats along the way) to have dinner in Port Clyde or Tenants Harbor or kayak from the beach. St. George River is a saltwater way beginning in Thomaston and ending at the tip of the St. George Peninsula where it meets Muscongus Bay, the Mussel Ridge Channel and the islands that dot this extraordinary part of Maine. Cushing is unspoiled and discrete; renowned for being the inspiration for Christina's World, the famous painting by long-time resident and beloved American artist Andrew Wyeth. Just under 2 hours to Portland International Jetport (or 20 minutes from the Knox County Regional Airport) makes access easy. More than anything, at the end of the day, time slows down here for sure and that is often just what the doctor ordered. BEFORE YOU BOOK ... COMMERCIAL FISHING WHARF IS NOT PART OF PROPERTY. The Boat House is a lovely and accurate reproduction of the lakeside cottage the owner’s family spent countless summers in when he was a boy. Recently renovated to include a wing for a private bedroom and laundry closet, this is a true year round cottage with all the comforts of home. This is a simple, comfortable cottage perfect for those who want to unplug and really get away from it all… The Boat House is situated on a lovely, peaceful, private wooded lot at the end of Watts Avenue with access to a body of fresh water known locally as “The Marsh”. The marsh is well-suited for kayaking and canoeing in warm weather, and skating and pond hockey in the winter.. The Village of Tenants Harbor is just a ten minute walk away – in the village you will find the Town Landing, an authentic fish market, a well-stocked general store, post office, several small shops as well as several restaurants such as Luke's Lobsters, East Wind Inn and the Quarry Tavern. Port Clyde Village (home of the Marshall Point Lighthouse and Mohegan Island Ferry) and sandy Drift Inn Beach is just a ten minute drive away – and the larger seaside cities of Rockland and Camden are also close by. The Boat House has an open floor plan and high, vaulted ceilings. The walls look rustic and unfinished, but they are insulated making this a perfect, cozy spot in all seasons. The Boat House is heated with a propane monitor and has another monitor heater in the bathroom. A fantastic Jotul propane fireplace is also included. The bedroom, which is set privately away from the main living area, has a queen bed. In the main room, there is a daybed that can easily be used as a sleeping area. The kitchen has all that is needed to any type of food preparation. The bathroom, lined with antique, reclaimed teak, has a large, walk-in custom shower. There is flat screen tv with DirectTV and Internet for those who need a quiet place with access to the web to work, read or write. WiFi Internet connection is also available. The part guests seem to like the fact the barn doors on the front of the cottage open completely onto the deck – you get a view and fresh, wonderful air when these are open. The Boat House has been outfitted with local antiques and reclaimed architectural elements…for example, the banister leading to the loft (not suitable for sleeping) is from a house on Barter’s Point in Tenants Harbor that was scheduled for demolition. If you want a chance to listen to little more than a lobster boat in the distance and leaves rustling in the wind, this is the place for you.

Think peaceful, tree laden haven with the sounds of lobster boats humming in the distance when you think of Settlers Cottage in Cushing. Originally built by the owner’s grandfather, this adorable cottage has recently been renovated. All of the original charm remains but you no longer have to “rough it” in any sense of the word. Situated on a hillside, the property overlooks large, mature trees and Collins Cove and original stone walls crisscross the property. The cottage is outfitted with an expansive wraparound deck with a grill and deck furniture. Have a lobster dinner at the picnic table or relax with a book and a glass of wine at the end of the day. This is the perfect spot. Inside, the cottage has stunning “v-notched” wood, hardwood floors, lots of large windows and the vaulted ceiling in the kitchen/dining room area offers a feeling of spaciousness and airiness. The kitchen shares a space with the dining area – the dining area overlooks the waterfront and the deck and it a perfect spot for meal, games or puzzles. The living room has a Rennia heater for cooler nights, a couch and a comfortable chair – this room also overlooks the deck and the waterfront. There is a shower bathroom as well, adjacent to the master bedroom – the master has a queen bed. Upstairs is a sweet loft – open to the downstairs, accessed by a ship’s ladder and, the best part, offering views from 3 windows. The loft has two twin platform beds. The cottage is equipped with cable television, a flat-screen TV, DVD player and wireless cable Internet. If you are looking for a simple getaway – without having to completely disconnect – this cottage is a fantastic option. Thomaston is just 5 miles away, Rockland is 10 and Camden is 20. You are coming to mid-coast Maine this summer for a reason. That reason can probably be summed-up by a few simple words: unspoiled, welcoming, close enough to engage with civilization’s charms but remote enough to fulfill a desire for restful solitude and quiet beauty. Those words pretty much sum up The Aerie, as well. Located on two acres at the very end of the Cushing peninsula, it boasts 250 feet of water frontage on both sides of the property: Davis Cove and it’s incredible sunsets across open water looking northwest, and Pleasant Point Gut which looks out on Gay Island to the south. The gently sloping rocks out front, warmed by the sun, make mid to high tide swimming warmer than expected and offer easy access for kayaking at all tides. There are only five homes at this end of the peninsula, so privacy is a given. A five minute walk down a private lane brings you to a small harbor where you can pick up lobsters at dock prices straight off the boats that fish the surrounding waters of Muscongus Bay. After doing the dishes, you’ll probably want to build a fire in the firepit that overlooks the water and do a little star or satellite gazing under the wide-open sky above. We like to think of the house itself as a Goldilocks house because, like the bed she chose to sleep in, it’s “just right.” Simple, but very well-appointed with a properly-stocked kitchen that overlooks the main, light-filled living and dining areas, as well as an outside deck. There is a separate den for music, games (lots provided) and television watching. The downstairs bedroom sports a king bed, while the upstairs “Aerie bedroom” with its magnificent 360 degree view has a queen. There is a full bathroom on the first floor. The water, less than 50 yards away, is visible from just about every vantage point in and out of the house. Loons and Bald Eagles are frequent visitors. This is Wyeth country, all right—Andrew Wyeth is buried at The Olsen House (a must visit), just down the road—and The Aerie is a perfect way to sample its singular beauty. Maine doesn't get much better. BEFORE YOU BOOK INFORMATION FIRES: ARE NOT PERMITTED AT THIS PROPERTY WITHOUT EXPLICIT PERMISSION. MID-STAY CLEANS ARE REQUIRED FOR STAYS LONGER THAN 10 NIGHTS. Apartment in Owls Head, ME
0 miles from St. George
Situated on a bluff on a quiet road very close to the ocean and surrounded by acres of woodland our studio apartment is the perfect base for a restorative sea side holiday. Perfect for walking and biking and close to water access for kayaking or swimming. It takes just 10 minutes to get from the peace of the peninsula to downtown Rockland with its many amenities. The town of Owls Head has a lighthouse and it is a half hour walk away from the apartment. The road we are on is quiet and is a favorite walking and biking road (we have some bikes you can use). Crescent beach and Holiday beach are 15 min/20 min walks away. Both are rocky but have a sandy strip at low tide where sea glass and sand dollars can be found. Owls Head library is open twice a week in summer and has a very good selection of books. The Knox county region airport is about 2 miles away and flights go to and from Boston daily. This is a small airport and we do not feel its impact on our tranquil way of life! A car can be rented at the airport. In the season May/Nov there is a charming cafe at the airport called "Salty Owl" and an active craft co-op store. The Owls Head Transportation museum is also near the airport and holds much interest to aviation and old car enthusiasts. We are also just 10 mins by car away from world class "Primo" restaurant.

''On The Rock'' Is on the Rock! I call my cabin, ''On the Rock'' I now have a 10 night minimum stay. My cabin sits on top of a big boulder right above the beach. If you were any closer to the water you'd be swimming. There's a large picture window that faces out to the beach and the ocean, this window faces east-southeast. There's a really nice deck just to the side of the cabin. The deck is beautifully built into an outcropping of rock that is just outside your door. The main room of the cabin has a built-in full-size bed built into the far corner of the room. This bed is set back a bit, from the rest of the living room. Then there's a separate bedroom also with a full-size bed. The bathroom is small and only has a shower.... this is a cabin. My cabin sits over looking an incredible spot on the coast of Maine, I can promise you that. And the ocean view picture that I have here shows only a small part of that view. My cabin has a large picture window that looks out to the ocean. So dream away.

Each campsite includes a 10'x12' safari-style canvas tent on a raised platform, and you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed inside (each site is different, see photos for the exact setup). After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property. If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper’s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set! Occupancy: Max occupancy refers to the total number of campers allowed at the site during your reservation. We welcome campers with larger parties, but you may need to bring extra camping gear of your own in addition to the tent that is already provided. Please plan accordingly. Line the bucket with a CleanWaste bag supplied at the camp (or another appropriate plastic bag) prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. We got this idea from bathrooms used on NASA spaceships, and we've used the Tentrr Loo countless times ourselves- don't worry! Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. Sunset Cove is located centrally on the St. George Peninsula and offers 200 feet of direct frontage on a private, peaceful saltwater cove. Mature trees shade the property and the large surrounding lawn and a gentle slope to the water makes for easy access – kayaking, fishing, swimming are all possible. Although the larger cities of Rockland, Camden and Rockport, as well as smaller not –to-be missed towns such as Tenants Harbor, Port Clyde, Owls Head and Spruce Head, are close by Sunset Cove, offers a peaceful place to truly relax. Birds, water, leaves in the trees…that is what you will hear. The house itself sits high on the lawn with lovely stonewalls surrounding it. It overlooks the front yard and the cove from large windows, a wonderful sun/screen room and a deck. High ceilings create a sense of breeziness and brightness and a well thought-out floor plan makes this an inviting space for groups of all size. The first floor has high ceilings and an open floor plan. The front door opens into the foyer with a stair case to the second floor directly to the right and an office/reading room to the left. The dining room, with a large farm house style table that can easily seat 8-10 people, over looks the living room and is adjacent to the kitchen. The kitchen is lovely with modern, upgraded appliances, granite countertops and essentially everything (and maybe more) a chef of any degree would need to cook in house meals. A large living room, set up for two distinct areas, occupies the front of the house and offers lovely views from a wall of windows. To the right is find a seating area – there is also a flat screen television here. To the left of is another seating area perfectly situated for cozy chats, reading, watching the waterfront. A small breakfast table can also be found here. A stunning and well-done sun/screen room is also located off the first floor – a bistro set and comfortable seating makes this the most popular room in the house during any time of the year. Directly off this room is a deck with outdoor furniture and a gas grill. The master bedroom is also on the first floor with water views, a king sized bed, a flat screen television and an ensuite bathroom. A half bath is located in the hallway leading to the master bedroom. The second floor is spacious and bright with three bedrooms, a game room and a full bathroom. The first bedroom is spacious with a seating area, a view of the forest and a king bed. Down the hall find a game room with a large table and lots of board games and puzzles. The second bedroom on this floor is also large with a king bed and views of the water. A full bathroom (tub/shower) is located between the second and third bedroom. The third bedroom occupies a large space and had two twin beds. Sunset Cove is unique in the way it feels when you are staying there – while it is large enough to accommodate a larger group, the layout allows for a cozy, comfortable feeling even if just two people are occupying the house but need room for occasional guests. Turkey Cove Cottage is one of those vacation rentals in Maine you walk into and immediately feel at home; stylish and carefully considered design, in both form and function, coupled with amazing views and an ideal location make this a perfect get-away. Turkey Cove is a stunning section of the St. George Peninsula sandwiched between the villages of Tenants Harbor and Port Clyde. This cove overlooks the St. George River (a vast salt waterway) and onto the Cushing Peninsula. Turkey Cove is ever-changing: at low tide you will see clammers making their way around the cove, digging for steamers, a mid-tide you will see waterfowl searching for their own catch and at high tide, boats of all kinds will be making their way out, onto the river which leads to the open ocean. The sunsets are thrilling…the sunrises awe-inspiring. This two bedroom, two bath cottage sits on a knoll with unimpeded views from inside the house as well as the large deck at the front. The lawn slopes down towards the cove, flanked by ancient apple trees and tall grasses – the property also has deeded access to Turkey Cove which means you can walk down to explore the waterfront, cast a line at high tide or kayak from the shore when the tide is right. The kitchen is well equipped with a “gathering table” in the center - lots of counter space and all you could need for meals of any sort. There is also a small dining area between the kitchen and the living room that often does double duty as a place to put together puzzles, play a mean game of cribbage or look through treasures collected through the day. The living room is comfortable and roomy with a flat screen television. Above the living room is a neat loft, accessed by a ship’s ladder, that is a favorite place for guests of a certain age to play, sleep (there is a double mattress in the loft that would be just right with a few sleeping bags), read and imagine. The master bedroom is private and set at the back of the house – it is sunny and roomy with an en suite bathroom and a king bed. The second bedroom is also roomy with two twin beds and private access to the shared hall bath. The bathroom has a fantastic claw foot tub with a handheld shower. Turkey Cove Cottage is ideally situated scenic walks, long runs or bike rides to Port Clyde Village or Drift Inn Beach, one of the area’s only sandy beaches. Tenants Harbor Village is also close by. The larger cities of Rockland and Camden/Rockport, both is vibrant and diverse downtown areas, are easily accessible as well. BEFORE YOU BOOK ...
